Reflecting on my personal experience, I'm not sure there's much you can say right now, it's all so new and exciting. Probably the best would be to keep in touch with him. Reflecting on my experience, I wish I would have had a voice of reason during that first year that would have helped me realize that leaving after one year would have been enough of that madness.

Merry Pantsmas Everyone!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i posted this in a thread that got locked and buried.
since then i've been really busy and have overdosed on christmas music in the past week.
so, i'm resurrecting this "holy day" holiday that most people will unknowingly be celebrating tomorrow.

Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.
by kneehighmiah inthe difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.
but i would say it's hard for brothers also.
i was talking to a jw last night.

The longer I was in the cult, the more unhappy marriages I knew the details of. Since I was already unhappy as a single guy, I didn't see marriage as something that would improve my life.

Today's wt "study" obfuscations
by prologos inparagraph 9 : " jesus blood validates the new covenant -- makes posiible the forgiveness sins for all time#.-- [and]--.
god could apply the value of jesus' shed blood to adams descendants--*.
--he could** also adopt certain --humans "as sons"--".

"Baffle them with bullsh!t." That seems to be that Watchtower way.
After all, this is the cult that brought you the "overlapping-generations" generation.

The Watchtower explains the sheep and the goats
by runForever inthe march 2015 study watchtower finally solves the mystery of the sheep and the goats:.
" first, note that jesus is teaching bymeans of an illustration.
obviously, he isnot talking about separating literal sheepfrom literal goats.".

So if he wasn't really talking about literal sheep and goats, what was he talking about?
"Obviously, he was talking about separating people: separating the tight-pants wearing people who will be destroyed, from the good people who worship me, ToMo3!"

I'm not much of a shopper, but now that I'm making money, shopping isn't so bad. Some places and stores are worse than others. I like the lights, the food, the booze, the festivities, and some of the music. And speaking of music, here's a holiday classic...

Don't you just feel the holiday cheer from Watchtowerland?
Such a bounty of misery and disappointment in the lives of the sheeple, but they can't face the fact that it's WT and the GB that are making their lives horrible. So instead, they have to find someone to blame, like family members who have woken up and left.

Bottom line is, despite the fact that WT claims to not break up families and they tell women to be obedient (remember Selma who was expected to take a beating from her unbelieving husband), the cult mentality is to abandon and persecute someone that questions or leaves.
